Christmas Card Idea with the beautiful A Stitched Season Designer Series Paper

This was one of the favourite projects from my recent sold-out Christmas in July boutique class. It is a simple yet elegant Christmas card featuring the gorgeous A Stitched Season Designer Series Paper. Judging by the smiles around the craft table, it was definitely a class favourite!

The sold-out class created four different Christmas cards, each showcasing a different way to use the brand-new A Stitched Season Suite, one of Stampin’ Up!’s latest Online Exclusives. This particular design proves that you don’t need lots of layers or complicated techniques to create a card with plenty of impact. Stay tuned as I will be posting the other cards soon.

Let the Designer Series Paper Do the Work

The star of today’s card is undoubtedly the A Stitched Season Designer Series Paper.

With its modern Christmas patterns and rich festive colours, this paper is beautiful on its own. To add even more interest, we embossed the Designer Series Paper using the retired Painted Textures Embossing Folder. The subtle texture creates the look of quilted fabric, adding extra depth while allowing the paper’s beautiful design to remain the focal point.

Even if you don’t own this particular embossing folder, don’t let that stop you. Almost any embossing folder with a subtle pattern would work beautifully, or simply leave the paper unembossed for a clean and classic look.

A Beautiful Finishing Touch

The sentiment comes from the Stitched Stocking Bundle, stamped in Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pad and die cut with the coordinating stitched label before being popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Raising the sentiment adds just enough dimension to draw your eye to the greeting without overwhelming the beautiful background.

Why This Card Works

One of my favourite things about this design is its simplicity.

The Designer Series Paper does most of the heavy lifting, while the bold Secret Sea card base and Real Red mat provide a striking frame that makes the festive colours really pop.

It’s a design that’s easy to recreate from DSP in your own stash and perfect if you’re making multiple Christmas cards.

The sentiment was stamped in Real Red Classic Ink, die cut using the coordinating label from the Stitched Stocking Bundle, and attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals for added dimension.
