July Scrapbooking Kit

Each month I release a new scrapbooking kit for the Picture to Page Creative Class (details below).  This kit will be available in either Tranquil Tide (pictured) or Night of Navy – both fabulous neutral colours.  I really love this double page layout as it was so much fun to do.

I have featured Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP = patterned cardstock) as it is one of my favourites.  Whilst this cardstock is reminiscent of water or the sea, it is such a flexible pattern to use for any generic scrapbook page or cards.  The masculine tonings make it very versatile.  During the month of July 2018, it is just one of the DSPs on sale.  View all the details about this sale here.

Tips and Tricks for this Scrapbooking Kit

The two side panels of this layout were die-cut using the ‘water’ die from the Lakeside Framelits Dies.  I die-cut the top, the bottom, the centre and then in between each side panel, which made it very easy to evenly space this design. I enjoy using die-cuts in a different way than intended which is just one of the reasons I love this layout.  They were originally designed as a ripple water pattern.

To make sure that the burlap ribbon sat flat, I stapled the ribbon in the desired shape before adhering the ribbon to the background using plenty of Tear and Tape.

The stamped sentiment is only part of the full sentiment from the Very Vintage Stamp Set.  I used a Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker to selectively colour the words I wished to use.

I used the leftover scraps from the 3″ x 12″ strips (which had been cut down to fit the layout) to die cut the title using the Large Letters Framelits.  The title was popped up with Foam Adhesives Strips.

The crumb cake background pattern was stamped multiple times using the water stamp from the Lilypad Lake Stamp Set.

This layout could easily be recreated using Night of Navy instead of the Tranquil Tide colour scheme.
