Lovely as a Tree – the most enduring stamp set ever?
I have been busily going through the new 2016-17 Stampin’ Up! catalogue (available 1 June 2016) picking out my favourites and coming up with my wish list. In the process, one of my favourite stamp sets, Lovely as a Tree, popped up. It has been around since 2001 (fifteen years), carried over from catalogue to catalogue. Up until now, I had been avoiding purchasing it despite loving all the beautiful cards that it creates….. BUT I have finally weakened and purchased this stamp set, one of the most popular Stampin’ Up! stamp sets ever. I couldn’t resist it any longer. But what is so special about this stamp set other than its popularity?
Stamping Techniques – Reflection Technique
Lovely as a Tree is a great stamp set to experiment with, especially popular for the reflection technique (YouTube video example by DOstampingwithDawn) and watercolouring – great throughout the year including Christmas. It is popular for masculine cards as well as sympathy cards. Mine arrived today, so hopefully I will have a play with it this long weekend – and yes, I will post the results. I will feature this stamp set in an upcoming class.
