Mistletoe Friends Stamp Set makes Christmas card making easy
This month’s Global Stampers’ challenge is “Fancy Fold Christmas Card”. Don’t forget to check the other Christmas Fancy Folds projects below as part of the Global Stampers’ Blog Hop. I chose the Mistletoe Friends Stamp Set to feature as I had yet to use this set despite it being a favourite. It is sooooo cute! Often the term Fancy Fold can strike fear into even the most experienced card maker. But this card will take your card making to a new level without any of the stress usually associated with fancy fold cards. It is ‘as easy as’. I have even included the measurements of the panels to make it even easier for you.
Any of your Designer Series Papers with a smallish pattern for this type of card would be suitable for this type of card. I used the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper (Basic Black and Whisper White) and the Be Merry Designer Series Paper (Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler).
To show you how versatile the Mistletoe Friends Stamp Set is, I have featured three different projects using different Designer Series Papers with coordinating envelopes. I used our new Stampin’ Blends to colour the images on card two and three. Each card is a slight step-up from the previous one The first card features a plain black and white image. The second card features a ‘spotlit’ image with some colouring. The image on the third card is multi-coloured.
Details and Measurements Mistletoe Friends Stamp Set:
What makes this card interesting is that both the top and bottom panel open. This is reminiscent of a gatefold card, but with a gap between the panels. I have stamped the sentiment on the card insert to peep through this gap. It was extremely easy to line up as I designed the card to fit the sentiment perfectly.
Card Base (Real Red or Cherry Cobbler for card three): 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ (14cm x 19cm), scored from long side at 1-5/8″ (4.2 cm) both sides (top and bottom);
1st layer (Whisper White or Old Olive for card three): 1-1/2″ x 5-3/8″ (3.81cm x 13.7cm);
2nd layer ( Merry Music DSP or Be Merry DSP for card three): 1-3/8″ x 5-1/4″ (3.5cm x 13.4cm)
Whisper White Card Insert: 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″ (10.4cm x 13.7cm);
Whisper White C/S for image: 3″ x 3″ (7.6cm);
Basic Black C/S layer: 3-1/8″ square (7.9cm);
Real Red C/S layer 3-1/4″ square (8.25cm); this layer is adhered to the top fold only.
Stampin’ Blends used: Cherry Cobbler (dark); Old Olive (dark); Cherry Cobbler (dark); Ivory; and Smoky Slate (light). Color Lifter.

Thanks Fiona. This is such a cute stamp set, that it works without too much embellishment.
