Delicate Details Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up! can pack a punch!

I think that the Delicate Details Stamp Set from the Sale-a-Bration Catalogue is one of those sets that can be easily overlooked. When I first looked at it, I though ‘a bit blah’, it won;t be a favourite and added it to my stash (perhaps never to be seen again). But then I wanted to create my February Thank You cards and this set just jumped out at me. I easily envisaged placing all the strips on one large block (F Block) and stamping the images at the top of the card and then reversing the block and stamping a mirror image at the bottom. How quick and easy did this turn out to be. And there was just enough room for the sentiment in between the two patterns of a standard card size (5-1/2″ x 8-1/4″- A4).

It did need a sentiment that added some BANG and again I went to a previously overlooked stamp set call Double Take, new from the Occasions Catalogue. The sentiments from this stamp set just jumped off the page, making a fairly plain card into something that did pack a punch. Each of the sentiments used a two step stamping technique in two different contrasting but coordinating colours (Emerald Envy/Mint Macaron; Sahara Sand/Night of Navy; and Bermuda Bay/Night of Navy).

This turned out to be a very simple one layer card something I don’t do too often. With this stamp set you can whip up lots of cards in a short period of time. I also decorated the inside of the card with a single lace image row in one of the colours used in the sentiment.

Each of the images from this stamp set works well when heat embossed, especially when using white embossing powder. It would work well as a feature with other layers. Check out pinterest for lots of other ideas.
