Home and ready to rock the new year
After a fabulous holiday in India, a lengthy stint of jet lag and Christmas with my family I am now back on board. Woohoo, I can’t wait to start playing with all my goodies from the new Occasions Catalogue.
But before I start back I thought I would share some photos from holidays. The highlight for me was definitely visiting the Taj Mahal – it was on my bucket list. But I loved all parts of the trip. It is a riot of vivid colour, fragrant spices, amazing architecture, some surprising wildlife and extraordinary scenery. As I wandered around, I kept seeing things that reminded me of Stampin’ Up! products – Moroccan Designer Series Paper for both its images and colours, Bermuda Bay and Tangerine Tango colours were everywhere.
Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
We even made it to the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (from the movie of the same name). Mind you it was in the middle of nowhere in a very poor small Indian village, which only goes to show how deceiving movie locations can be. It was just one of those moments. We intend to re-watch both movies as I think it will have even more meaning now.
In all the markets there were beautiful textiles. Bright saris dotted even the poorest villages. I didn’t bring any material home with me as I no longer sew but I was sorely tempted.
We also visited a small rural school to meet the kids. We left a few presents – pencils, books, rubbers, sharpeners and cookies.
We were away nearly four weeks and had the time of our life. Too many adventures to mention here but I do intend to complete a Project Life album on my trip – so stay tuned. I have chosen Project Life rather than traditional scrapbooking as it will be quicker and easier to finish.
At times it was simply overwhelming. Whilst many parts were quite confronting due to the poverty, it was still such an exciting adventure. Not that I needed any reminder, but I returned home with a renewed appreciation of how lucky I am.
