Picture Perfect by Marcia.
Every now and then you are the recipient of a card that is amazing – it steals your heart through its beauty. I recently had a special birthday and I received loads of beautiful cards, everyone of which I appreciated.
Now I was told that sending me a card is highly stressful because ‘there are standards because you send us such beautiful cards’. But I have to disagree on this – I so appreciate that anyone has taken the time to send me a card whether it be a handmade card or store bought. But it is also true that I love a card even more (no matter how complex or simple) when it is handmade because it contains the heart and soul of the person who created it. I never throw one of my handmade cards away – they are stored in a special draw and every now and then I check out the draw and go through these treasures.
Birthday cards are ‘hug-able’
On my birthday I received this absolutely beautiful card from Marcia Smith. Every time I look at it I am blown away. Marcia has given me permission to share her card with you. I just want to hug this work of art. I love every thing about it – the colours, the design, the imagery…. I loved this Stamp Set, so aptly named Picture Perfect, from the first day I saw it in the catalogue. Marcia was a little less sure but not anymore.
Each of the flowers and the leaves (including the ferns) were fussy cut. The scallop circle is like a latch. It is approximately 3-1/2″ in diameter and holds the card closed. The scallop circle is created from Glimmer Paper. The hummingbird also from the Picture Perfect Stamp Set is adhered using dimensionals. The card is 7-1/2″ tall and 4-1/4″ wide.
I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed sharing it.
Every day I feel truly blessed to do what I do (yesterday without internet and phone I felt a little less blessed!). I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends who share my passion.
My following post will showcase some of the other beautiful cards I received.
