Yes, there are some cards more special than others and a ‘card in a box’ is always special. Why? cause it is 3-D, it pops open to reveal a multilayered card obviously made with love. And whilst they are not difficult to make once you know how, there is a fair amount of work involved in making them. But they always carry the WOW factor. And this one folds down to fit into a standard envelope which you probably would not have guessed was possible.
It uses the 2-4-6-8″ box technique which makes it so easy to make. And I have a super trick for the insert. This card in the box features the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper, Balloon Celebration Stamp Set (which also contains those adorable other shapes like ‘lollipop circles’) and Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set. Once you make one of these 3-D cards, you will want to make a whole lot more. The sentiment comes from a retired stamp set (one which I love) but you could easily replace this with a sentiment from the Birthday Blooms Stamp Set which co-ordinates with the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper.
I reinforced the back of the card in a box with the thick Whisper White cardstock and then decorated with the flowers from Number of Years stamp set.
This card will be the featured project at my April Technique Teaser’s Creative Class on the 24 April 2016 ($1-5pm $25). Further details will be posted on my events page in the coming days. I have completed another project for this class which I will share with you in the coming days and it is equally as spectacular. I expect that this class will fill up quickly so don’t miss out.
