Whole Lot of Lovely DSP Birthday Card

Global Stampers Blog Hop goes floralHappy Birthday Card, Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, Global Stampers, Blog Hop, Stampin' Up! 2017-18 Catalogue Ann's PaperWorks| Ann Lewis| Stampin' Up! (Aus) online store 24/7

It is that exciting time of the month when Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world join together for a Blog Hop challenge and this month’s challenge is going floral.  It was the perfect opportunity to use one of my favourites from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue (p.86-87) – Whole Lot of Lovely DSP. I teamed it with the Lots of Love Stamp Set, which is part of the same suite.  This project also features the Happy Birthday Thinlits.  Check out my following posts over the next few days as to how this same basic design can be reworked for a completely different effect.

Tip: Die cutting your thinlits from patterned paper really provides some added WOW to your projects.

Most of the cards I create I do with a particular purpose in mind.   I created this card for a Crafty Paper Bees member’s birthday. As you have probably guessed, I send out lots of cards – usually, about 200 individual mailings to friends, family, members of the Ann’s PaperWorks community and team members – YIKES!!!!!

To check out the projects by some talented stampers, click the links at the very bottom of this post.  I love this month’s projects by all my colleagues.

Whole Lot of Lovely DSP card – all the details

Level of Difficulty: Quick and Easy  Time Required: 1/2 hour

Card Base: Tranquil Tide 5-1/2″ x 8-1/4″

Whole Lot of Lovely DSP striped layer: 5-3/8″ x 4″

Whisper White C/S layer: 3″ x 4″, stamped with images from the Lots of Love Stamp Set – Pear Pizzazz, Tangerine Tango, Tranquil Tide and Powder Pink. Layer Whisper White cardstock onto Tranquil Tide C/S 3-1/8″ x 4″ and adhere to striped DSP.

Tip: I chose this colour scheme by checking out the colour legend on page 188 of the Annual Catalogue for the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP.  Every DSP by Stampin’ Up! has this colour legend of coordinating colours which makes colour selection a cinch.

Die cut Happy Birthday sentiment from a scrap piece of Whole Lot of Lovely DSP.  Adhere using the Fine Tip Glue Pen.

Adhere Pear Pizzazz bow using Mini Glue Dot.  Decorate inside of Card.
