How to make a Floral not a Floral

Happy Birthday Thinlits always add the WOW!

I wanted to make a series of cards using the same (or similar) design, same ingredients, but still come up with a completely different style of card.  Yesterday’s card had a floral theme, but I am not necessarily big on floral themes.  I try to tailor my cards to the recipient and lots of my friends are not into florals either.  The solution to this dilemma was to make the Happy Birthday Thinlits the hero of the project.

This card still features the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper (DSP), the Happy Birthday Thinlits and Tranquil Tide Cardstock.  I used the In the City Stamp Set for the fabulous fireworks images.  This set has a massive 60 individual stamps and is so versatile. In the City is a Hostess Set, available for purchase only through the redemption of Host Rewards – contact me to learn how to earn your In the City Stamp Set.

I even die cut the sentiment out of a heavily floral piece of Designer Series Paper (patterned paper).  However, you cannot find the floral pattern once it is die cut but it still jumps off the page.  Check out my Whole Lot of Lovely birthday card and the measurements for this card are nearly identical.

Tip: Cut out the ingredients for a card multiple times and then rearrange into a different design to change things up with a minimal amount of work.
