Time of Year (hostess set) for Christmas in July

Time of Year (card 2 in Christmas in July series)

Time of Year stamp set by Stampin’ Up! is a hostess set (p. 201) from  the 2016-17 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalogue.  The ‘Thinking of You’ sentiment has a real WOW factor.  I like the flexibility of this set as it can be used for birthdays, special occasions and celebrations.  The coordinating Framelits also provide an opportunity to step it up somewhat.  Whilst the card has a few layers, it is still a pretty easy card to create.  This card uses a marker technique to colour in the holly stamp to make it multi-coloured.

As you know I am always talking up how many wonderful ideas can be found in the annual catalogue – this is a direct CAS (Copy and Share) from the catalogue.  When you get stuck for inspiration, the catalogue is my first port of call.

Envelope

Details:

  1. Punch top left and right corners of Whisper White Layer using the Trio Corner Punch (which is retired – but the corner rounder punch would work as well). Repeat on all four corners of the card insert.
  2. Stamp ‘Thinking of You’ and ‘THIS’ in Cherry Cobbler. Stamp three holly images on Whisper White Cardstock on Whisper White Layer, two images on back of envelope and one card insert (bottom right hand corner).  The holly image is coloured using Stampin’ Write Markers.  Stamp ‘Christmas’ sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White C/S and adhere using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  3. Cut doily in half and attach to back of Whisper White Layer. Adhere this layer to DSP using Dimensionals.  Baker’s Twine bow is attached using Glue Dots.
  4. Decorate with sequins.
