Love You Lots – are you ready for a cuteness overload?

Love you lots frogpmLove you Lots Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up!

Sometimes you fall in love with a stamp set even though it is not really ‘your style’.   This is one of those stamp sets.   The deciding factor was its innate cuteness, that all knowing smug smile.  And I also needed a cute card for my two year old niece’s birthday.  Now it had to be super cute.  Unfortunately, Ketty probably didn’t appreciate my card as much as I did – she was certainly more interested in the Little People car I gave her.  But last year when she was one, Ketty absolutely loved my handmade card and ignored all her fabulous presents as she kissed, licked, threw and ripped my card into bits.  So on balance I am doing ok in the Ketty card department, so far.

This little frog is oh so gorgeous and oh, so easy – a card base and two layers, stamp the sentiment, the frog and the ‘grounding’ (which comes from the Sitting Here stamp set) and do a  little bit of watercolouring and you are done.  In fact, all three cards are similar.

And as it was a ‘Happy Birthday’ card, I stamped the back with #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp.  I also stamped the back of the card with my favourite stamp from the Better than Email stamp set – with the sentiment ‘inspired to create and share with you’.

Back of card

Once I created the little frog, I had to make some more frog birthday cards (which have already been sent to some of my favourite members of the Ann’s PaperWorks community).  It then became a little contagious as I moved onto the hedgehog and then the elephant.  And I made multiples of those as well.  That mouse stole my heart.  The ‘congratulations’ cards were sent to team members (Crafty Paper Bees) who were recently promoted.

This stamp set is a hostess set so it is already discounted but you can only purchase this stamp set with Stampin’ Rewards (earned by hosting a qualifying workshop or placing an order over $250).

The sentiment for each of the cards was stamped in Archival Basic Black.  ‘Happy Birthday’ and ‘Congratulations’ sentiments are from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set (which has great sentiments as well as images).  The ‘thank you’ sentiment comes from Flourishing Phrases stamp set.  The grounding (the Smoky Slate squiggly bit on each card) comes from the Sitting Here Stamp Set and is stamped in Smoky Slate.

Each image was watercoloured with some shading.  The frog is coloured in Cucumber Crush, Elephant in Smoky Slate and Hedgehog in Tip Top Taupe.
